Blog Assignment 2- Foreign Aid: Yes or No

Today in class we discussed the topic question should the U.S. continue to give foreign aid during the recession? Remember the key terms I underlined in that question. Foreign aid is any money, medicine, or supplies given to other countries. This could be for a disaster, war, disease or development. The other term was recession. A recession is a time where the economy is not doing as well as it should. The unemployement rate is higher and the market is bad. The United States is currently in a state or recession. So after studying these terms and the topic write a 3-5 sentence statement telling me if you believe the U.S. should continue to give foreign aid during the recession and tell me why you believe that.(put your name at the end of the comment) Don't forget the stats and figures I gave you today. I have attached some of the articles you already have and a few new ones as well for your info.

Countries with largest amount of foreign aid given (in billions of dollars)
Countries that receive aid from the U.S.

  1. I think the U.S should stop giving money to other countries because are enemies might go by some fancy weapons to kill the U.S and also that we need this money to rase the stocks and give people jobs because this economy is so bad that my friends and family might lose thier job so I think we need that money plus we are already giving 90 billion dollars in charity.

  3. I think the United States should stop giving money when the economy is not doing as well as it should. I think this because the United States is already not doing as well as they should and the United Stated shouldn't give even more money. I also think this because the United States can pay for other problems in its country rather than to help another.

  4. I think the U.S. should not give money to other countries because a lot of people are losing their jobs and the U.S. should fix that. Another thing is charities are already giving lots of money around the world.

  5. I think the U.S. should not give money to other countries for three reasons. One, we have problems of our own in the U.S. Two, we need to help people find jobs. Finnaly, the third reason is that charity already gives $90,000,000,000 to other countries.

  6. I think that the U.S should stop giving money to other countries because we need it for our country . Our economy is so low already. I also think that they shouldnt give away money because our charities already give ninety billion dollars to them so why does the goverment give away nineteen billion dollars. We can use all of that money to help improve America.

  7. I think the U.S should stop giving money to other countries because we already give other countries enough money with 90 million dollars! Plus, we as american have are own problems. Are problems like jobs, construction, businesses, and organizations. We give them enough money and we should help them with the money and ourselves with the rest.

  8. I think that the United States should stop giving money to other countries. I think this because we give countries $19,000,000,000 when they have a disaster, but they only give us around $2,000,000,000 when we have a disaster. We won't need their money in a disaster if we don't give away $19,000,000,000 all the time.
