Blog Assignment 5- The Gulf Oil Spill
Friday we watched a video over the Gulf Oil Spill tragedy that happened last year. In at least 5 sentences tell me what was the Deepwater Horizon, what happened to it, why was the spill so hard to contain, is there anyone to blame for it, and how has the spill affected America? The Deepwater Horizon is a ocean that was in the Gulf of Mexico. A ship exploded bursting a oil pipe. It effected wild life all around the ocean. It was hard to close it because it was a mile under. The only one to blame is the ship it caused the oil pipe to open.

ReplyDeleteThe DeepWater Horizon explosion was caused by a valve or cap that broke and began leaking oil. During the leak an explosion killed 11 men on the platform and injured 17. The leak was hard to fix because the cap was so deep. BP is the company responsible for the explosion. They are responsible for the accident because the were over seeing the rig. The accident has affected the fishing the fishing industry,marine,wildlife habitat, and tourism.
The gulf spill in the Gulf of Mexico happened when a ship exploded and burst a pipe open. The pipe was in the Deepwater Horizon which is so deep it would crush you if you went to that level. We couldn't clog the pipe because it was so deep. It caused thousands of animals to die and it filled the gulf full of oil. We should probably blame the people in charge of the ship that exploded.

The deep water horizon is in the gulf of mexico. What happened was thet the oil rig pipe bursted and the oil came flouding out.It was hard to contain because nobody could get down there except for robots.Another reason is that they couldn't plug the hole.I theink the one to blame for it were the people working the ship or the person that made the oil rig.It affected America by hurting the ocean and people on board. Some even died from it.

The deep water horizen is in part of the Gulf of Mexico. Located deep in the deep water horizen is the oil pump whick busted. That caused all the oil to spill in to the Gulf of Mexico. Then after that it plutied the water. It was so had to contain because no people could go down there and fix it because of the water pressure.

The Deepwater Horizon is a drilling rig that exploded in 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico. It lasted for three months. It was so hard to contain because of how deep the water was. If anyone tried to go and fix it then the water pressure could crush them to the size of a small paper cup. I think that BP is to blame even though it was an accident. The spill has affected America in many ways like our wildlife. What happened was a cap on the rig broke and all the oil spilled out.
ReplyDeleteThe deep water horizon is the machine that broke and let out all that oil.It lasted for 3 months. Tt was so hard to contain because the oil was coming out at about with 100 gallons every second. We should blame BP because they didn't check on the machine. It has effected the tourism in america and the oceans around it. Clark Jewett
ReplyDeleteThe deep water horizon is a scary oil spill. It is a mile under the ocean. 11 people died when it exploded. I think it's BPs fault, because they kind of just forgot about that oil mine. They need to be more careful. Madeline De jong

I think BP is to blame for it because they hadn't checked it that often and they weren't watching over it. The spill has affected America by all of the oil getting into the ocean and affecting the economy.
